The Project

Central London garden with level change - needed to connect house to lower garden. Wanted distinct zones: upper deck for lounging near house, lower porcelain for dining, without looking disjointed. Access tight - typical Central London.

What We Built

  • Upper terrace: Millboard decking on steel subframe - warm timber look, anti-slip, no maintenance

  • Porcelain staircase: bespoke wrapped treads, mitred edges, looks like solid stone blocks - clean transition between levels

  • Lower terrace: large-format porcelain paving - slip resistant, frost proof, low maintenance

  • Levels engineered to be perfectly in line - drainage, retaining, all hidden

  • Integrated LED lighting in steps and retaining walls - safety + ambience

  • Picture-frame borders on deck, aligned joints, concealed fixings

Why Mix Millboard + Porcelain

Both low maintenance, both handle British weather, no rotting, no staining, no sealing. Decking gives warmth near house, porcelain gives hard-wearing dining area below. Together = cohesive but zoned garden - perfect for Central London where you need to maximise every square metre.
