Timber rots, steel doesn't. And roots need insulation. Timber planters rot from inside in 2 years — soil holds moisture against timber. Our planters solve this properly:

  • 3mm folded steel, hot-dip galvanised + powder coated to 80 microns, 25yr anti-corrosion, 10yr structure. No timber, no MDF, no rot. Same RAL 7016 Anthracite / 9005 Jet Black / 9003 White as pergola, kitchen, seating, handrail — one palette across entire garden.

  • Insulated with 25mm Celotex + root barrier, drainage cells, and weep holes. So roots don't cook in summer, don't freeze in winter, and steel doesn't sweat and condensate inside. Critical for UK — we learned this on 100+ projects.

  • Engineered soil build-up, not just box of soil. Drainage cell base, geotextile, lightweight expanded clay, then growing medium. Prevents waterlogging and reduces weight for rooftops. Overflows chased inside frame, not dripping down face.

  • Concealed fixings, flush Millboard cladding match, hidden services. Millboard Envello Shadow Line+ or composite slatted screens, powder coated coping, no face screws, no visible bolts. Every post lines up with deck joists.
