Build: Steel subframe, powder-coated steel pergola, architectural privacy screen, Durafix fixings, picture-frame borders

The Project

Urban commercial terrace - needed usable outdoor space for staff/clients. Exposed, overlooked, no character. Brief: warm timber look, architectural, private, future-proof for lighting/shade.

What We Built

  • Millboard Smoked Oak decking - dark, rich tone, hand-moulded oak grain, resin-mineral composite

  • Heavy duty steel subframe - level, drainage, movement allowances, built for intensive commercial use

  • Bespoke powder-coated steel pergola - bold focal point, designed to take future lights, retractable shade, heaters, climbers

  • Architectural privacy screen - not just fence, part of design - gives enclosure without blocking light

  • Clean lines: aligned boards, hidden fixings, picture-frame borders - contrasts with brick/glass/steel building

Why This Combo

Millboard = zero maintenance for commercial - no sanding, no algae, no rot, slip-resistant. Smoked Oak adds warmth to steel/glass. Steel pergola + screen = long life, no painting. Whole terrace = low cost for facilities manager.
